Should I Use Attendance or Peer-to-Peer for My Golf Event

Last updated on 12 Feb, 2026

Planning a golf tournament and wondering whether the Peer-to-Peer or Attendance model is the better fit? Both models can support a successful event, but they serve different purposes depending on your goals.

Here’s how to decide:

Attendance: Great for Traditional Tournaments

If your focus is primarily on event day logistics, such as golfer check-in, team assignments, or meal counts, the Attendance model could be a better fit.

Key Features:

  • Designed around registration rather than fundraising.

  • No fundraising pages are created for attendees.

  • Event sponsors can be registered directly through the public form.

  • Includes table charting and Live Check-In tools, which are helpful for planning and managing guests.

  • Can include a payment component if needed.

Attendance works well when your tournament is centered on participation and logistics rather than fundraising.

Peer-to-Peer: Great for Donation-Driven Golf Fundraisers

If your tournament is designed to raise funds through participant involvement, Peer-to-Peer is likely your best match.

Key Features:

  • Each registrant receives a personal fundraising page, perfect for rallying donations from friends and family.

  • Campaigns revolve around donation collection, not just registration.

  • Receipts and invoices are available for donors and registrants.

  • Event sponsors are managed manually, which gives you more control if you already have sponsor agreements.

  • Can include a payment component if needed.

Peer-to-Peer is ideal when the fundraising aspect is central to your event. Participants can set goals (like $250 or more), track donations, and help you exceed your fundraising target.

Which Should You Choose?

Ask yourself:

  • Do I want each golfer to help fundraise? → Choose Peer-to-Peer

  • Do I want to keep it simple and focus on registrations and logistics? → Choose Attendance

You can read more about our Event Types and see Registration Form examples in our Getting Started with Your Event article or reach out to our support team. We’re happy to help you decide what works best for your event.
