Liaisons
Liaisons are an information-only option that helps you know who the recruiter is, usually at a church or a school. They don't have any functionality outside the Column Browser and reports. This is an easy way for you to track church participation in your event.
Some organizations use liaisons to allow walkers to categorize themselves under certain funds or centers. For example, you could use the liaison role if you have multiple centers participating in a walk and walkers need to select the one for which they are fundraising.
Liaisons are non-participating. They don't receive a fundraising page and they are not expected to attend the event. If a someone needs to function as a liaison AND a participant, they will need to register twice: once as a liaison and once as a participant/fundraiser.
Once Liaisons are registered, they will populate the Church Liaison list on the Registration Form. If you're using liaisons for a different type of role, the field name can be edited on the Registration Form.
Participants can select their Liaison from the Registration Form or admins can assign Participants to a Liaison in the Column Browser.
There is a report for Liaisons in Reports & Exports.
Teams
Teams show on the Team tab on FundEasy pages and on the Team leaderboard.
When someone creates a team from the Registration Form, they are made the Captain of the team. Team Captains are assumed to be participating in the event and receive their own fundraising page.
Teams can also be created, joined, and left from the Team tab on FundEasy pages when that setting is enabled in Event Preferences.
Teams have their own report in Reports & Exports.
Teams don't show on the Column Browser. Instead they show in Manage Registrants in the left column. Manage Registrants works like Manage Registrants in AttendEasy.
The biggest difference between the Teams and Liaisons is that the Liaisons are for admin-only use, while the Teams are visible to the public. Some things to consider:
Do you want to have teams showing on the FundEasy pages and leaderboard? If you don't, you can turn off the Teams and just use the Liaison option.
If your Liaisons need to be your only Team Captains and you want those teams to show on your FundEasy pages, you may not need to use the Liaison option at all. Instead use the Team tools.
Sometimes you'll want to have both options. Liaisons will help you know who the recruiter is, but there may be more than one team the liaison has recruited. Not everyone in the same team needs to choose the same recruiter/liaison. Teams and Liaisons function independently of each other.
If you will have teams that are not led by your Liaisons, you may want to register your Liaisons ahead of time to populate the Liaison list and let them register themselves if they are participating in the event. That helps eliminate some confusion for participants when they have to decide if they are registering as a liaison or creating a team.
