The default Stripe processing fees are 3.6%+ $0.30 per transaction. However, Stripe offers a nonprofit rate! Applying for the nonprofit rate will reduce your fees to 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction.
Please note that Stripe's fees for American Express may vary from our advertised fee structure. To verify this rate or to request to disallow American Express in your account, please contact Stripe. Rates that deviate from our advertised fee structure will result in reporting discrepancies.
To apply for Stripe's nonprofit rate, please email nonprofit@stripe.com with the following information:
Your EIN, or a letter from the IRS designating your 501(c)(3) status
Confirmation of the primary email address associated with your Stripe account (this is the email address of the business representative indicated when you setup your Stripe account)
Written confirmation that greater than 80% of your payment volume will be tax deductible donations.
Some examples of non-eligible donations include: membership fees, tuition payments, ticket sales, registration fees, and auction payments.
