How to handle general donations not for a specific Participant's fundraising page

Last updated on 12 Feb, 2026

Sometimes donors don't want to give toward a specific Participant's fundraising page. In this case, an admin can register the organization as a "Participant" so that general donations can be given toward that "Participant's" fundraising page instead.

Creating an Organization Fundraising Page

Here's how to register the organization as a "Participant":

  1. Click the Register Person button in the bottom left corner.

  2. Enter the admin's name in the First Name and Last Name fields and fill out the rest of the form, including the admin's gender, the organization's address and email address, etc.

  3. Once the organization is registered, go to the Manage Registrants page and click on the admin's name to open the profile for the registrant.

  4. Click the [Edit] link to the right of the Basic Information section of the profile.

  5. Check the Is Company? checkbox and enter the organization's name in the Company field.

  6. Click the Save Basic Information button.

Checking the Is Company? checkbox and entering the organization's name will cause the registrant's fundraising page to display the organization's name instead of the admin's name. Donors can then choose the organization fundraising page if they wish to give to the organization as a whole instead of to a specific participant.

Making an Organization Fundraising Page Private

If you'd like the organization fundraising page to not show up on the Leaderboard, you can make the page private. This could be helpful if the page will only be used internally and should not be displayed to the public.

Making a fundraising page private requires adding the FundEasy_IsPrivatePage field to the registration form and changing a setting in the Profile settings section of the organization fundraising page. Check out this article for more information and instructions.

Note: Keep in mind that making a fundraising page private means that it will not show up in search or when donors choose a page to donate to from the Event Web Page. Private pages can only be accessed by the URL of the page or from inside FundEasy.
